Category Known Problems

Known problems and workarounds:

  1. Problem: When navigating with the top menu tabs, if the dropdown
overlaps with the navigation thumbnail of the previous page,
the dropdown will not expand further and any mouse click
is interpreted as clicking on the thumbnail.
Workaround: Scroll down the thumbnail to avoid the overlapping
    with the dropdown.
  2. Problem: When navigating with the top menu tabs, if the dropdown
expands beyond the right screen margin, then one cannot pick
    from the dropdown menu.
Workaround: Click the three dots on the top right corner of the browser
and reduce the zoom level by 20%. The dropdown menu will appear
    within the screen.
  3. Problem: When there are many landmarks on the same city on the map,
the geocodes of the landmarks are offset so that they do not completely
cover one another. That means the landmarks appear to move away
    from the city.
Resolution: We are working on the resolution in the next release.
  4. Problem: The landmark icon on the map does not have label Resolution: We are using the basic feature of Google map. In the future, we will explore if we can use custom icon with descriptive label.
  5. Problem: In the regional, or provincial map, the boundary is hard
to see. It is better to shade the area with light color.
Resolution: We are working on the resolution in the next release.
  6. Problem: In the High Speed Train map, the route lines are hard to
see. It is better to use lines, instead of bubbles, to represent
    the routes.
Resolution: We are working on the resolution in the next release.
  7. Problem: The subtitle of the pictures in gallery has abbreviation.
Explanation: We use file name as subtitle. But file name has size
limit. In some cases, we have to shorten the file name with
abbreviation. Hopefully, it would not cause readability issue to
    the audience.
